In June of 2000, my friend Adam Walden (also in Digital Harvey) and I got a call from another friend who was the marketing director at Datek Online. He told us that they were just about finishing up with their new data center and wanted Adam and I to document it. He asked that we make it comical and that, above all, we poke fun at Datek's co-founder and CTO, Peter Stern.
And that's what we did.
Our method was pretty simple. We did a bunch of normal interviews. That is, we didn't crack jokes or act like jackasses. That happened later. Once we had the initial interview footage, we shot reverse angles on us asking questions that were different from the ones originally posed. Aren't we stinkers?
I wonder if the Daily Show on Comedy Central does something similar?
